Form 990 Part III Line 1

In 1984, heritage christian services started by offering residential services to people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. We believe in treating people with dignity and walking alongside them as they look to achieve what is meaningful to them. In 2022, we: updated our brand to embrace our agency's spirit of endless possibilities including a refreshed logo. Our new tagline is "people of possibility", as we stay true to our principles of striving for inclusivity and honoring each person's dignity and worth, while acknowledging our broadened reach. Maintained new york state's compass accreditation for the 21st straight year. Heritage christian services is the longest continuously accredited agency in the program, and the only agency that has been awarded since the program's inception. Compass is given by the new york state office for people with developmental disabilities (opwdd) to agencies that have demonstrated their ability to consistently provide quality supports and services that exceed minimum regulatory requirements. Completed renovations to three homes, began additional renovations for two homes, and started the process of two new builds. These capital projects are critical to ensure the current and future people who will be supported in these homes age in place safely with dignity and pride. Their housemates, families and staff are excited about the new homes and the changes made. These home improvements not only positively impact the people who live there, but enables staff to better care for them in an accessible environment. In total, the projects completed and initiated as of 2022 will directly impact 35 people currently supported and we estimate more than 230 people over the next 60 years. Raised $4.8 million in support of the agency's capital campaign. This five-year campaign is funding the rebuilding or renovating of existing homes so that we can better support people through every stage of their life as they age. Advanced the heritage christian services commitment to equity and justice, which states: "we believe that people are entitled to dignity, respect, equity and justice. We champion a society that removes barriers. We reject racism and discrimination of any kind. We protest systemic and political inequities that marginalize people, recognizing that there is a history of structural racism in the united states. We will continue to learn and change to achieve justice. We know that strength comes from unity." eleversity, the workforce education and diversity training arm of heritage christian services, was excited to hold the opening day of the women of color summit in person. In addition, eleversity trained 4,088 people for the opwdd innovations contract. In addition, 749 people attended eleversity dei conferences and events, and 568 people attended eleversity sponsored dei trainings delivered by various organizations. At heritage christian services, we celebrate other aspects of our success: the organization grew to over 3,600 employees. We advanced the base wages of most frontline care professionals to $17.25/hour, the second increase in less than a year and a half. We launched a new recognition and reward platform for staff called heritage high five. People can use the platform to recognize co-workers for a job well done, strengthening our people-first culture. Heritage christian services continued to steward support to its workforce through the employer resource network, a membership association that offers individualized and confidential support services to employees.
