Activity 2

F.m. Kirby childrens center, an early childhood education center provides quality care & school preparation to 284 infants through school age children. Tuition is subsidized for those in need. In 2011, 44 children (15.5% of enrollment)received direct financial assistance toward tuition, averaging 65% of tuition fees. Full-day care for infants & preschoolers, & half-day enrichment/nursery school for toddlers & preschoolers offered. Full day kindergarten & kinder wrap offer alternatives to local half-day kindergarten. Before & after school care for 1st to 6th graders provides parents peace of mind while at work. Programs permit parents to remain gainfully employed, knowing that their children are thriving in a safe, supportive environment.

Activity 3

Day camp with 131 campers per week, is offered at both locations. Thirty eight campers received financial assistance, representing 226 weeks of camperships. All camps reinforce the core values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility. In addition to traditional camp activities, younger children participate in activities that help maintain their education levels through the summer. Preteens & teens spend their camp days exploring new environments while developing leadership skills, new friendships & a sense of accomplishment. Volunteerism is also stressed, with one week devoted to assisting charities. Parents experience peace of mind knowing that their children are in a safe, structured, supervised environment for the summer.
