“We are organized with members. Our organization offers junior membership and active membership to its members in exchange for initiation fees and annual dues. The organization is led by six officers and six governors, collectively the board of governors. The officers and board of governers are selected by a nominating committee consisting of current members of the organization. They are elected at the annual meeting by the members.”

“All candidates for admission to active or junior membership must personally complete an aplication for membership and must be proposed by one member and seconded by another member. The candidate and his/her spouse must have met and been acquainted with at least 6 members of the board of governors. The candidate is also interviewed and the names of all the candidates are mailed to all members for written comments. The organization holds at least three general membership meetings each year, one of which being the annual meeting. At the annual meeting, the members vote on the candidates for office by ballot.”

“The officers and the board of governors have sole authority in the management, finances, and control of the organization and its property. No funds are disbursed without the approval of the board of governors. All business conducted by the board of governors is reported upon at the general membership meetings. The election of officers is subject to ballot voting by the members at the annual membership meeting.”

“The outside accounting firm has the primary respobsibility to ensure form 990 is accurately prepared. The treasurer is provided with a copy of form 990 to review. Once the treasurer has completed his review of form 990 it is filed.”

“The organizations governing documents are held at the organizations offices and are made available upon request.”
