The mission of collier services - sisters of the good shepherd is to provide at-risk youth a chance to grow toward their potential in an environment that promotes belonging, dignity and hope. The mission is based on a philosophy of deep respect for the inherent worth of each individual and the belief in the capacity for personal change that is consistent with the ministry of the sister of the good shepherd.

In general, approximately 80% of our graduates continue their education after collier.

Community service projects, socialize with friends and enjoy a variety of planned social and recreational activities. Weekend family visits are encouraged.

Through outdoor programs that encourage all participants to respect themselves and the world around them while celebrating the inherent beauty of nature. Kateri environmental center kateri environmental center, founded in 1979, provides unique environmental education opportunities for people of all ages. Our 260-acre outdoor classroom of woodland, wetland, meadows and stream delights visitors with the wonder of nature while learning important ecological principles. Kateri day camp approximately 175 children ages 5 through 13 from low income families enjoy a safe, wholesome summer camp experience as they explore our 260-acre campus at kateri day camp. Our camp is grounded in the philosophy of respect for ourselves, each other and the world around us. Activities: daily swims sports arts & crafts nature hikes and activities and more over 95% of our campers are eligible to receive meals through the usda summer food service program. Staff: our professional staff includes certified teachers, water safety instructors and social workers. Transportation: kateri provides free bus transportation to and from many areas of monmouth county.

Collier house in keyport, nj is a transitional living program for five young women, ages 18-21, who are homeless or transitioning from the foster care system. The program helps young women develop the skills they need to live healthy, self-sufficient and productive lives. Each resident receives individual instruction to ensure her competency in life skills, computers, money management, and employment. Each resident is expected to work and/or continue her education. They are encouraged to participate in community activities, socialize with friends and enjoy a variety of planned social and recreational activities. Connections with family members and other meaningful adults are encouraged and fostered.

OUR 260-ACRE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM OF WOODLAND, WETLAND, MEADOWS AND STREAM DELIGHTS VISITORS WITH THE WONDER OF NATURE WHILE LEARNING IMPORTANT ECOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES. KATERI DAY CAMP APPROXIMATELY 175 CHILDREN AGES 5 THROUGH 13 FROM LOW INCOME FAMILIES ENJOY A SAFE, WHOLESOME SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE AS THEY EXPLORE OUR 260-ACRE CAMPUS AT KATERI DAY CAMP. OUR CAMP IS GROUNDED IN THE PHILOSOPHY OF RESPECT FOR OURSELVES, EACH OTHER AND THE WORLD AROUND US. ACTIVITIES: DAILY SWIMS SPORTS ARTS & CRAFTS NATURE HIKES AND ACTIVITIES AND MORE OVER 95% OF OUR CAMPERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE MEALS THROUGH THE USDA SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM. STAFF: OUR PROFESSIONAL STAFF INCLUDES CERTIFIED TEACHERS, WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTORS AND SOCIAL WORKERS. TRANSPORTATION: KATERI PROVIDES FREE BUS TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM MANY AREAS OF MONMOUTH COUNTY.

THE PROGRAM HELPS YOUNG WOMEN DEVELOP THE SKILLS THEY NEED TO LIVE HEALTHY, SELF-SUFFICIENT AND PRODUCTIVE LIVES. EACH RESIDENT RECEIVES INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION TO ENSURE HER COMPETENCY IN LIFE SKILLS, COMPUTERS, MONEY MANAGEMENT, AND EMPLOYMENT. EACH RESIDENT IS EXPECTED TO WORK AND/OR CONTINUE HER EDUCATION. THEY ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES, SOCIALIZE WITH FRIENDS AND ENJOY A VARIETY OF PLANNED SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES. CONNECTIONS WITH FAMILY MEMBERS AND OTHER MEANINGFUL ADULTS ARE ENCOURAGED AND FOSTERED.
