“Skc leadership and scientific advisors survey, discuss, and prioritize the areas of greatest unmet need within the pediatric cancer research landscape and develop specific programs to address them. 1. Skc conceived and organized the 2025 care for rare global strategy forum, inviting the world's top experts in embryonal tumor with multilayered rosettes (etmr) and atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor (atrt), two rare and aggressive brain tumors that affect very young chiildren. The objectives of the meeting are to facilitate the exchange of information around existing research projects and build collaborations across continents. 2. Skc initiated and facilitated the pediatric brain tumor research network (pbtrn) meetings, bringing together researchers in the nyc area from the top six institutions three times per year to share research data and build collaborations. 3. Skc has advisory roles on national and international clinical trials consortia, regulatory bodies, multi stakeholder platform for pediatric cancer drug development, pharmaceutical companies, and builds collaborations with other nonprofits to advocate for and fund research. Skc reviews proposals for the nci funded children's oncology group and the department of defense rare cancer research programmatic panel. Skc was invited to serve on panels and present at seven scientific meetings in five countries. Skc co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and pediatric oncology textbook chapters. These roles give skc opportunity to influence research agendas and priorities.”
