Renew macon, inc. Is a not-for-profit organization and is a subsidiary of macon area habitat for humanity, inc. The mission of renew macon is to acquire and develop land for the purpose of building affordable houses in partnership with people in need by utilizing partnerships with other local organizations that have like-minded goals in community development. It is organized, and at all times thereafter is operated, exclusively for the benefit of, to perform the functions of, or to carry out the purpose of macon area habitat for humanity, inc.

RENEW MACON COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2007 TO ASSIST MACON AREA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, INC. WITH THE FINANCING AND BUILDING OF HOMES FOR QUALIFYING LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS IN THE LYNMORE ESTATES NEIGHBORHOOD. REQUIREMENTS FOR DESIGNATED COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS CHANGED IN RECENT YEARS PREVENTING THE CONTINUATION OF OPERATION UNDER THE EXISTING STRUCTURE. Renew macon was in the process of winding down operations during the fiscal year ending june 30, 2016 in anticipation of dissolution in the next fiscal year. Renew macon community housing development organization was established in 2007 to assist macon area habitat for humanity, inc. With the financing and building of homes for qualifying low income individuals in the lynmore estates neighborhood. Requirements for designated community housing development organizations changed in recent years preventing the continuation of operation under the existing structure. Since 2007, three homes were built and sold to qualifying low income homeowners by renew macon. Macon area habitat for humanity, inc. Will continue to serve the lymore estates neighborhood and provide homeownership opportunities to low income individuals following the dissolution of renew macon.
