“National charity league is a mother/daughter organization focused on 3 pillars: philanthropy, leadership, and culture. Mothers and their daughters (grades 7-12) participate in all three of these pillars over the course of the year with a required minimum of at least 15 hours of philanthropy and 15 hours of league (cultural, leadership) activities.”

“Philanthropy - ncl, inc. Tucson chapter promotes social awareness by considering the local community's needs and volunteering at appropriate non-profit organizations to serve. Tucson chapter supports its 28 local philanthropy partners through a variety of mother/daughter volunteer activities which include assisting with a variety of charitable fundraising events, heart walks, hunger walks, bingo and game nights, cpr training, promoting exercise and healthy eating among children, writing letters to military and veterans, roadside clean up, planting & weeding gardens, preparing and serving meals, creating art to promote kindness, and making and distributing a variety of tangible goods to local residents and hospitalized children.”

“Leadership development - tucson ncl chapter nurtures confidence through opportunities to learn and grow while also building problem-solving skills through a supportive environment of healthy relationships. Girls are organized by grade level and each girl will hold a leadership position within their class at least once during their 6 year tenure. As part of the position, prescribed leadership activities are required. These positions largely mirror the roles on the board, run the regular meetings and are supported by mothers (grade level advisors or gla's) who perform an oversight role. Examples of skills developed include confidence, consensus building, team building, conflict resolution, event planning, and parliamentary procedure.”

“Cultural experiences - as future leaders, ncl continually strives to build stronger ties with our communities and the individuals within them. It is through this understanding that we grow and develop broader worldviews that will shape and support our lives. Mothers and daughters of each class attend a cultural experience together with a focus on different areas of art, theatre, dance, and music. Each year the following activities are held: the mother-daughter annual tea and fashion show which celebrates the tradition of tea and allows the junior class to participate in the fashion show, the senior recognition program which celebrates the graduates and their accomplishments after 6 years in the program and the ticktocker award ceremony which celebrates members with a distinctive number of philanthropy hours of leadership.”
