“Annually, each board member is sent a conflict of interest disclosure statement which he/she is required to complete and return to the secretary. The secretary reviews the information to determine if any potential conflicts exist. If a potential conflict occurs during the year, the conflict must be reported to the board for review. If a conflict is found, the individual recuses himself/herself from discussions and voting on those particular matters. Staff are also required to complete an annual disclosure of conflicts of interest.”

“The organization participates in the wage and salary survey conducted by united way. Results of the survey are reviewed to determine areas of large disparities in compensation during hiring and while evaluating existing employee salaries. Along with the survey information, a 360 degree review process is used whereby the board and those who directly report to the ceo evaluate performance. Ultimately, the board chair is responsible for the ceo's annual performance and salary review. Deliberations and decisions of the review are documented in the board minutes. The ceo reviews all other officer compensation annually. The last review was conducted june 16, 2014.”
