The mission of old dominion university community development corporation is to revitalize the communities, develop the human and physical capital of the neighborhoods, improve the lives of the residents of the neighborhoods, and support the community development interests of old dominion university.

Schedule A Part II Facts and Circumstances Public Support

The old dominion community development corporation (odu cdc) is a grassroots partnership that includes neighborhood residents and civic leagues, government officials, business, and educational institutions. Its mission is to restore and revitalize the communities in close proximity to the campus of old dominion unitversiy (odu), improve the lives of neighborhood residents, and support the community development interests of odu. The activities of odu cdc include the construction of affordable housing for key members of the workforce (e.g., teachers, police, and firefighters), educational and recreational programs for youths, and leadership development. Odu cdc governance includes members representing a broad cross section of the views and interests of the community appointed by reason of their vision, community leadership, and knowledge and experience of the community. The directors of odu cdc include the president of odu, the former executive director of the norfolk redevelopment and housing authority, the president of the urban league of hampton roads, a representative of the highland park civic league, and other community leaders. Odu cdc is affiliated with odu pursuant to a memorandum of understanding dated march 1, 2011. Odu cdc has maintained a continuous program to solicit funds from the general public and its activities are designed to attract support from governmental units. Its fund raising activites are conducted in accordance with odu's development policies and matching gift administration policies.
