“Several livestock contests are held each year which promote a higher scholastic understanding of the field of animal science among student members. Many of the participants are 4h and ffa students as well as members of vt block and bridle. Tests are designed to evaluate student's knowledge of animal science by experts in the industry. The club is able to present youth with many aspects they would not otherwise be introduced to. The practice provided through these contests is a great asset. The contests are an excellent source of practice for youth in areas of public speaking, problem solving and confidence building.”

“National convention student members and advisors attend the national convention held in arlington, va. During the trip, there are various educational tours. The students join their peers to gain a more complete understanding of the field of animal science and are rewarded for their achievements.”
