“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: The Midland Young Leaders Challenge with General Tommy Franks is a world-class summer leadership program offering 30 of the top high school juniors in Midland County, Texas, a face-to-face experience with General Franks and prominent Midland leaders. The Midland Young Leaders Challenge will help to develop leaders who can solve problems and communicate solutions that will propel our world to greater peace, prosperity and mutual respect. The program is built around General Franks Four Stars of Leadership: character, common vision, communication and caring. Those core principles guided General Tommy Franks through a 38-year military career. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Understanding Community Understanding is our newest leadership program, and is a community improvement initiative. Introduced by Joe Crookham and General Franks during the 2018 Four Star Leadership program, it was developed to create awareness of community issues and possible solutions in our future leaders.During initial interviews with each student, they were asked to identify issues in their schools and communities that are having a negative impact on themselves, their school or their community. This program was created to encourage students to identify issues, get perspectives, ask questions and develop understanding of issues we face in our communities. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Inspired Leadership is a unique experience that communicates the Four Stars of Leadership exhibited in the life of General Tommy Franks: Character, Communication, Common Vision and Caring. Each session engages participants through illustrations, videos, worksheets, activities, and interactive content which heighten each participants ability to learn and retain practical leadership principles”
