Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, Line 2: New Services

Ms. JD provided $7,000 total in scholarships to support 4 female law students across the country who dedicated their summer to public interest law.

Form 990, Part III, Line 3: Ceased Conducting or Significant Changes To Services

For 2019, Ms. JD did not fund the global education fund. In the past, Ms. JD sponsored 2 women each year to attend law school in Uganda. The Global Education's goal is to enable women in developing countries to pursue legal education who otherwise would not have access to higher education and be able to pursue their dreams of becoming lawyers by attendingn the law program at Makerere University in Uganda. Ms. JD did not have women to sponsor for 2019, but intends to continue this program in the future.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4D: Other Program Services Description

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: LaddHer Up Event: 58 attorneys attended from small, mid-size, and large BigLaw firms from across the US at a hotel in Napa Valley, CA. This event brought together junior private firm associates 5 years of practice with nearly 50 seasoned general counsels from across the corporate spectrum, to foster mentoring relationships and to educate attorneys on the ins/outs of becoming corporate and in-house counsel. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Determined to Rise: (Formerly Ready to Rise) is a one-day academy in law and leadership for middle school girls, grades 6-8, with fun and engaging workshops, inspiring speakers and great snacks! By providing opportunities for education and interaction with women law students and attorneys, Ms. JD's Determined to Rise academy will allow girls to see themselves as future members of the legal profession advocating for clients, serving as members of the judiciary, running for political office, launching innovative businesses and reaching back to share their education with other girls in their communities. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: NWLSO Leadership Academy: Ms. JD supports campus groups collectively called the National Women Law StudentsX Organization NWLSO, which represents the interests of women law students, provides a forum for women at law schools across the country to connect with one another and experienced practitioners, and links law school women's organizations nationwide.
