“The Trust governing board updated all individual school PTO bylaws under the Cornwall Central School District PTO Trust to make policies and procedures consistent across the organization.”

“Each school's treasurer prepares their portion of the financials which are consolidated by the lead Trust treasurer who then inputs the form 990. The completed form 990 is reviewed by another PTO trust executive or board member as well as the PTO trust treasurer who then prepares and reviews it. The consolidated spreadsheet and completed 990 form are forwarded to all the schools PTO presidents and their respective treasurers.”

“Our organization distributes all governing documents, conflicts of interests and whistleblower policies, and well as forms 990 and financial statements to all board members, and makes them available to all organization members and the public upon request. All changes to governing documents and policies are reviewed and approved by all board members. All organization and board members are required to bring any potential conflicts of interest to the trust boards attention immediately. These matters would be discussed and addressed by board members. In the current year, differences in nomination and election procedures amongst the schools caused some conflict which the PTO trust addressed immediately by updating all schools' bylaws to be consistent as noted above.”
