“The organization has three classes of members: 1. Active members - any attorney who is a member in good standing of the massachusetts bar may become a voting member of the association upon application to the clerk and full payment of the dues for the current year. 2. Honorary member - the judges, recorder and deputy recorder of the land court and registers of deeds of the several counties or registry districts of the commonwealth of massachusetts and such other persons as the board of directors may specify, shal be honorary members of the association. Any honorary member who is eligible for voting membership in the association may become a voting member by signifying his or her desire to be such to the clerk, and paying the annual dues. 3. Associate - any attorney who is a member in good standing of any jurisdiction other than the commonwealth of massachusetts and any other real estate professional, including, without limitation, paralegals, surveyors and title examiners, may become an associate of the association upon application to the clerk and full payment of the dues for the current year. Unless otherwise provided herin, associates shall be entitled to all rights and privileges as members accept the right to vote.”

“The voting members elect a president, president-elect, treasurer, clerk and other directors at the annual meeting. These officers can be removed at any time with or without cause by a majority vote of the voting members.”

“At all meetings of the members every voting member shall be entitled to one vote. When a quarum is present at any meeting, excepting where a larger vote may be required by law, the articles of organization the by-laws, the voting members present shall decide any question brought before the meeting.”

“The organization monitors and enforces compliance with its conflict of interest policy by inquiry of its officers, directors & employees. Any potential conflicts are discussed by management and/or the board of directors and proper measures are taken.”

“The process for determining compensation for all staff persons, includes a review and approval of independent persons, comparable data, and a contemporaneous substantiation of the deliberation and decision.”
