“The executive committee, comprised of board officers, serves as a standing committee of the organization. In the absence of a limiting board resolution, between board meetings, the executive committee shall exercise all of the board's authority permitted by law.”

“The officers complete an initial review of the form 990. The organization provides a copy of form 990 to all board members for a complete review and approval prior to the form being submitted.”

“The conflicts policy is discussed with all board members when they join the board. All board members are required to review and sign the conflicts policy upon joining the board, and annually thereafter. When signing the conflicts policy, board members disclose any potential conflicts in writing. The board secretary and advisor monitor and screen for potential conflicts as they arise and enforce compliance with the conflicts policy as needed. No conflicts have arisen during this tax year, so the policy has not been enforced.”

“The dc abortion fund (dcaf) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that makes grants to members of our community in dc, maryland, and virginia who cannot afford the full cost of an abortion. We operate a free, confidential helpline staffed by highly trained volunteer case managers, and after determining whether a caller is eligible for funding assistance, we send patient grants directly to clinics. Dcaf is the only organization in the dc region that focuses solely on providing this service for members of our community.”

“The organization assumes responsibility for the selection of independent accountant and financial statements review service. No changes in the process from prior year.”
