Client Note 1 - Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief: Pursuant to the declaration by the President on August 25, 2017 (FEMA DR-4332) of certain Texas counties as a federal disaster area, affected taxpayers are entitled to tax relief under Treasury Regulation 301.7508A. The relief provided by the IRS postpones certain tax-related acts that were due on or after August 23, 2017 and on or before January 31, 2018. The extended deadline of November 15, 2017 for filing a Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax (Form 990 series) for Year 2016 has been postponed until January 31, 2018.Per IRS News Release TX-2017-09 issued on August 29, 2017, Brazoria County, Texas has been included in the covered disaster area. Per SETT-2017-13, the IRS clarified that tax-exempt organizations are also entitled to this relief. Taxpayers principal place of business is located in Brazoria County, Texas and as such, taxpayer is entitled to this relief.
