ReasonableCauseExplanation/Explanation0December 11, 2013 Internal Revenue Service Ogden, UT 84201 Re: The Fashionistas 20-4440038 This letter is in response to the notice assessing a late filing penalty for the organization's 2012 form 990 we are requesting an abatement of this penalty for the reasons and circumstances outlined below. Our board of directors changed shortly prior to the due date of the return, as well as an elimination of staff employed by The Fashionistas, who previously prepared our returns. Thus, there was confusion about who would file the extension and how to file the extension, which unfortunately was not filed. The organization has taken actions to ensure that all future filings will be timely including retaining the services of an outside firm to prepare its future forms 990.
