“Members of the organization - membership includes all donors to the case alumni association. Governance members include officers (president, 1st and 2nd vice presidents, treasurer, secretary, and assistant treasurer), 1-year, 2-year and 3-year directors and all past presidents.”

“Form 990 review - the audit committee has been delegated the authority to review the form 990 prior to filing by the council of the case alumni association, inc. At the next meeting of the council after the audit committee's review, a copy of the form 990 is made available to all council members.”

“Monitoring and enforcement of conflict policy - at the start of each fiscal year, a conflict of interest (coi) statement is mailed to all existing and current members of the council. At each council and executive meeting, a completed and signed copy of the coi must be received before the member is allowed to participate.”

“Compensation review and approval - the executive committee of the board determines the compensation of the executive director. The committee is independent of the executive director and sufficient comparability data is used in the determination. The compensation of all employees of the association are reviewed by the executive director and his recommendations are forwarded to the executive committee for approval. Upon approval, those changes are incorporated in the budget for the next fiscal year.”

“Availability of documents - abbreviated financial statements are included in the alumnus magazine that is mailed to approximately 20,000 graduates of the case school of engineering, case institute of technology, and the case school of applied science. Mathematics and science alumni of case western reserve university are included. Copies of this magazine are available at the association's offices. The association's conflict of interest policy and governing documents are available upon request.”
