Part of this mission includes education and outreach to the public about reusing creative materials and reducing waste

In 2024 The ReUse Market diverted 7.29 tons of creative materials from the landfill (up from 6.6 tons in 2023) and continued community outreach to educate the public about its mission.Community outreach included speaking with attendees and sponsoring cash prizes for the Repurposed Quilt category at the Boise Basin Quilter's Guild annual quilt show, organizing school field trips to visit The Market, hosting a craft event for attendees of the Ada County Kid's Duathlon (318 participants and over 1000 attendees) and offering take-away crafts during events hosted by the North End Organic Nursery (30-45 crafts built at each event) as well as our monthly demonstrations in The Market.The ReUse Market also provides free and greatly discounted supplies to hundreds of educators across the Treasure Valley, as well as other nonprofit and charity endeavors such as the Girl Scouts, Project Linus, Case for Smiles, Boise Little Theater, the Idaho Nonprofit Center and Treefort, to name just a few.Funds generated through the retail Market have been placed in reserve to support the long-term growth and sustainability of The ReUse Market. Reserve funding will be used for moving to a more permanent and accessible location that allows space for continued and expanded community outreach and educational offerings.-$24,755
