“A copy of the 990 is reviewed in detail by the treasurer and the finance committee. Approval is then given by the finance committee upon completion of their review. A final copy is distributed to the board of directors prior to submission.”

“The board annually reviews the conflict of interest policy and requires the officers, directors and key employees to update and sign these forms. This allows the board to monitor any changes that could cause a potential conflict of interest.”

“The executive director's salary is determined by the board of directors based on comparable data. All discussions regarding the executive director's salary are held in executive session without the executive director present.”

“All staff wages are determined during the budget process and are based on comparable data. These wages are then approved by the board in conjunction with the approval of the budget. If needed, the executive director can bring recommendations to the board for changes in wages during the year, should a change be necessary.”

“Closed as of 8/31/24 - for nearly 20 years our mission was: forgotten voices international's (fvi) mission is to demonstrate the love of jesus by partnering with local churches in southern africa to empower families and caregivers to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of orphaned and vulnerable children in their communities. Our hope is to see every child experience the love of god and the security of a family, church, and community.”

“Following the formal closure of forgotten voices international on 8/31/2024, the board dispersed the remaining funds raised to accomplish the following activities: supply all forgotten voices zambia, zimbabwe, malawi and us staff members with 3 months' severance - (funds were sent in late august to our africa staff; us staff received their severance over the subsequent months). Fund our remaining operational bills to close down the organization properly including our final review & 990 filing with our accounting & audit firm for 2023/2024 as well as 990 filing for 2024/2025 fiscal year. All three local forgotten voices offices closed their organizations tied to forgotten voices international and subsequently forgotten voices zambia and forgotten voices zimbabwe restarted their work as independent entities. Forgotten voices international was able to send our remaining funds after expenses listed previously to both organizations to support their efforts to continue the mission.”
