“The organization retained parthenon management group to manage society business, finances, and organize meeting details for the congress and any regional meetings. The management company oversees day to day operations of the society, and consults with the board of directors and society officers who make decisions regarding the society.”

“The organization has two classes of voting members: full members and student members. Full membership shall be open to all persons with a professional interest in schizophrenia research. This would include but not be limited to, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and scientists (mds, phds, msws and those with other related degrees) in areas pertinent to the discovery of the causes and treatment of psychiatric disorders. All persons wishing to apply for membership will complete an application designed by the secretary to contain complete professional information necessary for membership including an attached curriculum vitae (cv and documentation of co-authorship in a peer-reviewed journal. A student membership shall be available for those individuals who are either a fulltime undergraduate or graduate student, or a student in the first two years of a post-doctoral program at a university in a field relevant to schizophrenia research. A student may also be a psychiatrist in an approved residency training program. Student membership will be reviewed annually. A student member will have reduced membership dues for the duration of their status as a student. A letter from the student's immediate supervisor verifying his/her student status and relevant field will be required for membership.”

“Members elect the election committee members, the board members and the officers of the society.”

“A draft version is sent to the board of directors for review prior to filing.”

“Conflict of interest (coi) forms from the board of directors and from relevant committees, such as the program committee, are collected by the executive office each year. Assigned staff and the president review coi's prior to each call or meeting and monitors to ensure compliance with board policies. Assigned staff and committee chairs act in a similar capacity for relevant committee functions.”

“The organization pays to the association management company a monthly management fee. Therefore, schizophrenia international research society has no paid employees.”
