“To provide educational discussions and publications on eating disorders to universities, conferences, and organizations with the purpose of actively promoting understanding, prevention, identification, diagnosis, and treatment of eating disorders and related issues.”

“The organization promotes the education, understanding and prevention of eating disorders as well as their associated risk factors through development of written materials, presentations and outreach. During the 2015 fiscal year, the organization communicated with board members via email on a monthly basis as well as hosting its july annual board meeting. It participated in a half dozen educational free-to-the- public webinars, responded individually to 232 emails and phone calls requesting resources and support, while posting quarterly articles on its joyful journey blog (with posts to twitter, linkedin, and facebook). It held 14 face-to-face meetings with volunteers; lectured at a dozen nationwide conferences, treatment centers, organizations and universities. The organization also mentored five high school seniors in their senior year projects on topics related to eating disorders or body image and received over a dozen unsolicited emails and letters testifying to the power and effectiveness of its work; via the organization's web site, blog, webinars, correspondence, phone calls, one-on-one visits, and its nationwide presentations, the organization touched a total of 4,342 professionals, students, and families.”
