Board members and officers of the phi mu holding company board must annually complete a conflict of interest form. The form is reviewed by all board members for compliance. If a conflict of interest is identified, only independent board members vote on the identified issue.

The reporting of salary expense represents a reimbursement allocation of shared employees. The payroll information returns are filed by related tax exempt organization, phi mu foundation and phi mu fraternity. Both related tax exempt organizations have equal board representation and, accordingly, do not qualify as a related party to be reported on schedule r.

Fasb asc 740, income taxes, requires the evaluation of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in the course of preparing the organizations tax returns to determine whether the tax positions would more likely-than-not be sustained if challenged by an applicable tax authority. Tax positions not deemed to meet the more-likely-than-not threshold would be recorded as a tax benefit or expense in the current year. The organization evaluates its uncertain tax positions using provisions fasb asc topic 450, contingencies. Management believes there are no material estimates that should be accrued as of june 30, 2025.
