Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
The Coalition hosts a free educational program known as "Know Your Smoke: The Dangers of Fire Smoke Exposure" to regional audiences somewhere in the United States on a monthly basis. In 2017 instructors conducted 11 training sessions throughout the United States, including the US Navy Emergency Services division in Honolulu. In 2017, more than 2000 firefighters encompassing 950 fire departments were trained about the deadly impact fire smoke has on firefighters and how to prevent the exposure. Accomplishments are measured by departments changing Standard Operating Procedures to mandate that firefighters wear their air at all times and that fire grounds must be monitored for toxic gases before firefighters can take off their air pack. In 2017 the Coalition launched a new educational website which allows firefighters to download all training programs to create department specific training opportunities.$0$80,902
