Mission and Program Overview

Mission

We provide chaplaincy services to owners, employees and their family members of private companies. Each week our workplace chaplains provide compassionate listening, spiritual care, mental health support, and counseling to support people in the practical needs of their life and family. We also respond to traumatic events that affect companies and government organizations with Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) facilitation and grief counseling services.

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
English language Chaplain Care Programs to companies based in California: Our organization has contracts for service with approximately 13 California based companies. Our chaplains make regular weekly rounds to various workplace locations that are a combination of office, industrial, food production, laboratory testing, etc. environments. We will meet both onsite and offsite (e.g. Zoom video conf., restaurants, coffee shops, employee homes, church offices) to provide pastoral care and counseling. Our mission is to provide spiritual, psychological and emotional well-being for employees by offering a confidential and supportive presence at the place where people spend more than half of their waking lives. Employees today spend more time with their "company family" than with their spouses or children. Companies that utilize our Chaplain Care Program value practical help and support that we can offer their employees. Chaplain services are a voluntary benefit offered to all employees (whether they have a faith or no faith tradition).$0$104,607
Our organization provides chaplains (English and Spanish language) trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM, through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, www.icisf.org) as well as Spiritual and Psychological First Aid. When traumatic events take place in a California company we are contacted by regional and national Mental Health Benefit providers (i.e. insurance companies that provide Employee Assistance Programs).$0$4,474

The following resolution was adopted pursuant to Corporations Code section 5211(b) effective March 10, 2025 by unanimous written action of disinterested Directors of WORKFORCE CHAPLAINCY after independent review and consideration. WHEREAS, The Corporation provides Employer Assistance Plan ("EAP") faith-based counseling services to employees of its client businesses within the State of California; and WHEREAS, some of the Corporation's major client businesses have either re- headquartered from California or have employees in states where staffing and logistics make it impractical for the Corporation to provide EAP services and outreach; and WHEREAS, Dr. Paul Gendron, a Board member, the Corporation's CEO, and the Corporation's lead provider, has discussed expanding the reach of the Corporation's ministry through an affiliation with Corporate Chaplains of America, Inc. ("CCA"), 1300 Corporate Chaplain Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587, EIN 56-1966466, Deduction Code PC, a North Carolina nonprofit public benefit (religious) corporation of national scope that shares the Corporation's primary goal of spreading the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ; and WHEREAS, CCA proposes that Dr. Gendron accept employment with CCA in furtherance of such an affiliation while also serving the Corporation in dual positions that would violate the letter of California Interested Director and Conflicts of Interest laws; and WHEREAS, such dual employment appears unavoidable to expand the Corporation's ministry beyond California through affiliation with CCA, IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED that Dr. Gendron be and is hereby authorized and encouraged to accept employment with Corporate Chaplains of America, a nonprofit public benefit (religious) corporation, hereby waiving any statutory, actual, or potential conflicts of loyalty or interest implicit in such employment on the following conditions: 1. That Corporate Chaplains of America authorize Dr. Gendron to continue serving as an Officer and Director of the Corporation for purposes of concluding an affiliation and, if necessary or desirable, to act for the Corporation in winding up and dissolving; 2. That Corporate Chaplains of America execute a similar waiver any statutory, actual, or potential conflicts of loyalty or interest implicit in Dr. Gendron's emplo
