| IRS990/Desc | 0 | Homes of Hope Program Achievements: July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019The Community Inn (overnight emergency housing) served 160 individuals with 2,720 bed stays.Of the 160 served, there were 146 adults (95 males and 51 females) and 14 children (9 males and5 females). Of these adults, 6 were veterans and 1 reported chronic homelessness. 62 of theguests were living in dwellings not meant for habitation, 31 reported mental health issues, 24 hadphysical disabilities, 23 had chronic health conditions, and 5 reported drug and/or alcohol abuse.Upon exiting, 18 found rental with no ongoing subsidy, 3 with a rental subsidy, and 7 moving inwith family. The Transitional Housing Program served 34 individuals (11 adults and 23children). One of those families came from an emergency shelter, one from dwelling not meantfor habitation and three from domestic violence programs. There were 5 children under the ageof 5, 8 between 5-12 years old, and 9 between 13-17. Upon exiting the program 13 folks movedto rentals without any ongoing subsidies, and 2 moved in with family. The Anson County groupthat Homes of Hope helped convene last year has received their non-profit status. Homes ofHope is assisting in acquiring housing so that they can begin housing families and individualswithout homes in Anson County. A house at 207 South Park in Wadesboro has been targeted for3 families, once renovations have taken place. Homes of Hope will oversee the renovations andcase management of the first clients. The Anson County group will pay for rent and other clientexpenses. In recognizing the lack of affordable housing, Homes of Hope purchased a house inAugust of 2018 on 515 South 4 th Street in Albemarle and renovated it during the remainder of2018 and the first half of 2019. A family from the Transitional Housing Program has beenselected to be the first family to move into this new Permanent Supportive Housing Program thatwill require below market rent. The family is expected to move into the house at the beginningof August 2019. Additional plans for a couple of duplexes to be built on Crown Point inAlbemarle are also in the works for the Permanent Supportive Housing Program. |
