Profile
The Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians, Inc. (AMFM) provides support to Annapolis area based musical arts education programs and provides temporary financial relief to professional Annapolis area musicians. The financial relief is intended to ensure that a loss of work by a qualifying musician will not result in financial collapse. That safety net provides rare security for Annapolis area musicians, creating an opportunity for them to pursue musical artistry with a greater degree of assurance and equanimity, benefitting the musical arts community at large by benefiting the musicians themselves. AMFM also created a Catastrophic Fund, which provides financial assistance to Annapolis area musicians who have suffered a catastrophic loss or injury. Finally, AMFM has created a music scholarship grant program in memory of an Annapolis musician (and music teacher) who lost his battle with cancer several years ago.

| During the fiscal year that ended August 31, 2025, the AMFM Board of Directors approved applications for lost work benefits submitted by thirty-five (35) qualified Annapolis area musicians, in the total amount of $29,011. Additionally, $36,000 was granted to six (6) different applicants for catastrophic benefits. During this period and as part of the organizations youth programs, $2,500 in musical and vocal instruction benefits were paid primarily for underserved school-age students. The Board of Directors also approved a total donation of $6,000 to two Annapolis area 501(c)(3) organizations ($3,000 each) for their summer musical education programs so that underserved youth could attend those programs, and awarded $5,000 for a college scholarship to an incoming college freshman from the greater Annapolis area who would be majoring in music performance. | - | - |
