A former board member is managing member of salesses buchanan, llc, which has loaned the organization $1,600,000 for the acquisition of land to build a residential charter school for foster teens. The interest rate on the note is 5% per annum. The note is secured by a first deed of trust on the 114 acre property in los alamos, ca. The balance due to the llc as of december 31, 2013 totaled $1,758,500 including $158,500 of accrued interest. Any unpaid interest and principal are due in full upon sale, transfer, or conveyance of all or any portion of the property. Interest payments made to salesses buchanan, llc for the year ended december 31, 2013 totaled $0. Prior year payments and accrued interest due have been capitalized as part of the land development related to the residential charter school for foster teens.
