Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The organization regularly and consistently monitors and enforces compliance with its conflict of interest policy through required annual written disclosures signed by all directors, officers, and key employees. In addition, individuals are required to disclose potential conflicts as they arise. The board of directors or an authorized committee reviews all disclosed conflicts, determines whether a conflict exists, and ensures that any affected individual is recused from discussion and voting. All actions taken are documented in board or committee minutes. The board also conducts periodic reviews of compensation, grants, and other transactions to ensure they are reasonable, fair, and in the organization's best interest, and takes corrective or disciplinary action when necessary.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The annual process for determining compensation is as follows: the executive committee of the mali rising foundation shall annually evaluate the executive director on his/her performance, and ask for his/her input on matters of performance and compensation. At least every three years executive committee will gather information to make a recommendation to the full board for the compensation (salary and benefits) of the executive director (and other highly compensated employees or consultants) based on a review of comparability data to the extent reasonably available all documents are available on the organizations website, as well as upon request.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

All documents are available on the organizations website, as well as upon request.

IRS990/Desc0ACCESS - MALI RISING CREATES ACCESS BY BUILDING SAFE, DURABLE MIDDLE SCHOOLS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES WHERE STUDENTS HAVE NO VIABLE PATH BEYOND PRIMARY SCHOOL. MALI RISING WORKS WITH MALI'S CENTRES FOR PEDAGOGICAL ACTIVITIES (CENTRES D'ANIMATION PEDAGOGIQUE, OR CAP) AND WITH LOCAL VILLAGES TO MAINTAIN EACH SCHOOL AND ENSURE LONG-TERM IMPACT. EACH SCHOOL INCLUDES THREE CLASSROOMS, LATRINES, A PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE, AND ESSENTIAL FURNISHINGS. CONSTRUCTION IS LED BY LOCAL MALIANS, CREATING JOBS AND FOSTERING COMMUNITY PRIDE. THE ACCESS PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES SCHOOL FEE SUPPORT AND SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MANY OF OUR STUDENTS. THIS PROGRAM HELPS STUDENTS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION THROUGH THE INSPIRATION SCHOLARSHIPS, AS WELL AS SCHOOL FEE SUPPORT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS. EACH SCHOOL AND SCHOLARSHIP HELPS ENSURE THAT DISTANCE AND COST NO LONGER STAND IN THE WAY OF EDUCATION.
