“The organization's purpose is to encourage and stimulate research and education in rheumatic diseases as well as promote new and improved therapeutic strategies. This is the organization's first priority and will take the majority of the organization's time.the organization will also hold meetings at least once a year to discuss and present information related to rheumatology including but not limited to evaluation and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory arthritic conditions, lupus, vasculitis, and osteoporosis. At these meetings, members will be connected to many others who are also involved in or have been involved in the care ofpatients with rheumatic diseases. These meetings will be planned months in advance and will take a considerable amount of time to prepare. The organization also focuses on bringing to the members, patients, and community continuing education for rheumatic diseases. Participation or sponsorship in the publication of papers, manuscripts, journals or other written studies related to rheumatic diseases is one of the organization's many plans. The organization would like to promote high standards of medicaleducation as well as policies that further advance the practice of rheumatology.”
