Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2

Cyndi jones and steve birnbaum have a family relationship.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The board of directors reviewed and approved the form 990 prior to its filing. The form 990 was then authorized and signed by the organization's executive director.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

Wildflower conducted a significant process for determining the compensation for our newly hired executive director prior to our formal search process. We consulted with kristin kinsella, an hr professional who provided us with compensation data for non-profit executive directors in the new england area. Additional information was provided by our search consultant john tarvin from eos transition partners and rachel sarvey, a non-profit professional who works as a development director at silent spring, a local non-profit. This data was initially discussed with our treasurer, arthur greenberg and cyndi jones, founder and board chair and then presented to our search committee as the job description and compensation was being developed. A salary and benefits package were then approved by the 5-member search committee which included both board members and outside professionals.
