Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The mission of ocean partnership for children is to help youth struggling with behavioral health and development challenges to stay at home, in school and safe in the community through the provision of care management services. Opc employs a unique and proven model of wrap around services, which utilizes community and natural supports for the youth and families in need. As an integral part of the new jersey children's system of care, opc is one of fifteen care management organizations throughout the state but focuses soley on providing care management services in ocean county, nj.

Ocean partnership for children, inc. Is a nonprofit community based organization serving children with mental health, substance use, and emotional challenges. Opc's most significant activities are to provide care management services, including linkages to counseling, behavioral supports, substance abuse treatment, respite, and support services for the families and caregivers. Opc also partners with a variety of community providers to assist the youth and families to be successful. During this fiscal year, one of the most significant activities for opc was to assume responsibility for providing care management services to youth with developmental disabilities, including autism, down's syndrome, etc. These youth were transferred to the care management organization due to the state's reorganization of the division of developmental disabilities in the nj department of human services.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The internal revenue service has recognized the organization as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The agency follows standards that provide clarification on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in the organization's financial statements. The guidance prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for the recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, and also provides guidance on de-recognition, classification, interest, and penalties, disclosure and transition. The organization's policy is to recognize interest and penalties on unrecognized tax benefits in income tax expense. No interest and penalties were recorded during the years ended 2015 and 2014. The tax years subject to audit by federal and state jurisdictions are the years ended june 30, 2012, and forward. At june 30, 2015 and 2014, there are no significant income tax uncertainties.
