Supporting families 248 home visits by our team job search assistance including 45 employment referrals 245 individuals connected with resources such as occasional emergency rent, utility assistance, provision of food, household furniture & appliances food co-ops up to 3x/week serving 260 households with 41,533 lbs of nutritious produce as well as nonperishables donated by local grocers esperanza nueva immigration legal services helped neighbors understand and navigate us immigration system. 69 individuals counseled or referred; 145 attendees at educational forums, citizenship classes and know-your-rights seminars. Christmas store offered the opportunity for parents to purchase christmas items for their children at greatly reduced cost impacting 280 individuals. Strengthening community 750 meals served at four community dinners throughout the school year for participating students and families co-organized a spring festival for 200 neighbors along with seven other local organizations, providing games, food & fun worked with local leaders to strengthen neighborhood associations and advocate for community improvements downtown connection met monthly & coordinated outreach for local churches and groups. Over 70 attendees impacting 94 organizations.

Empowering youth throughout the school year neighborhood children came to our youth centers after school for over 20 hours/week of organized activities including: snacks, mentoring, tutoring, reading programs, character development, spiritual formation, life skills lessons, budgeting/banking, creative arts, leadership training, youth clubs, computer coding, job readiness, college prep, field trips, recreational activities and community service we regularly witnessed the power of relationships at work as kids graduated from high school, committed to higher education, started jobs, matured socially, excelled athletically, nurtured new dreams, grew in character and moved into leadership positions served over 160 youth from 3rd grade through high school grads in our programs provided summer camp scholarships, chaperones and transportation for 63 of the most regular students to attend day camps in el paso, adventure camps around the southwest, and a college trip to e. Texas formed an upward soccer league for 97 k-8th grade kids 35 students graduated from high school who had participated in ciudad nueva programs. 96% of ciudad nueva students graduate from high school vs. 77% considered at risk of not finishing high school

Equipping leaders border fellows (recent college grads & young adults) engaged in a 10-month intensive program aimed at investigating the integration of faith, vocation and urban community development. Seven border fellows involved in 2018, two former fellows are now leading ciudad nueva youth programs ciudad nueva co-led two graduate level courses addressing issues of faith, poverty, culture, community development, ethics and contemporary border issues invested in neighborhood leadership - 1 college staff, 3 utep work study students, 5 high school & middle school interns, and 2 neighborhood moms helped form the leadership team in 2018 supported temporary shelters for asylum seekers around el paso, & mobilized volunteers (including many neighborhood youth & families) to help with these efforts ciudad nueva leaders helped in areas of bridge-building, community development and reconciliation at workshops, churches and gatherings in el paso, tucson and waco.
