Conduct both qualitative and quantative research (including actions as a catalyst for direct observation of electoral processes when necessary to provide key information) on topics related to the ability to conduct transparent, accessible, and accurate elections, including, but not limited to, the use of paper ballots on electronic voting machines, recount procedures, audit procedures, ballot accounting procedures, relative costs of different voting systems, opportunities for public observation of voting systems, and more. Publish reports and information of these topics, and develop surveys to be used by the general public for conducting research and observation on such topics in their local areas, thereby furthering the educational exempt purpose of the organization. Co-authored two state by state reports on election preparedness with major media coverage. Florida voter foundation - to ensure that all eligible voters are provided an equal opportunity to cast a private and independent ballot, and have all votes on that ballot recorded and counted accurately. Champion the public interest as primary in elections and resist excessive corporate, political and bureaucratic interests that threaten it. Build strong non-partisan allicances with elections officials, scientific, legal and other technical experts, voters, funders and others throughout florida and beyond to further our mission.

Country. 2. Provide focused technical and policy updates, monthly conference calls feature guest speakers and give participants a chance to discuss high priority issues. 3. Respond collectively to urgent issues. For example, when a proposed corporate merger would have given one voting machine vendor control of over 70% of the nation's votes, an ad hoc committee leveraged strong relationships within evn to coordinate a quick response, informing the u.s. Department of justice of serious risks to voters; significant mitigations resulted. 4. Meet in person for networking, education, problem-solving, and strategy development. Evn participants and invited guests meet for an annual conference that gathers stakeholders at all levels. In 2010, then u.s. Election assistance commission chair donetta davidson wrote: "i left the evn conference with a renewed sense of optimism about advocates and election officials actually working together and not talking past each other. I truly believe we've begun to build a foundation based upon trust and the mutual goal of service to voters." 5. Recognize contributions to the field of election verification. Each year evn honors outstanding leaders with awards for their service to democracy.

Provide media releases and public commentary on new developments in the voting rights field; participate in newspaper, radio, television, and web- based interviews; and provide expert speakers to live audiences (including classrooms) to discuss issues related to verifiable elections, thereby furthering the exempt purpose of the organization.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0ELECTION VERIFICATION NETWORK - THE ELECTION VERIFICATION NETWORK PROVIDES A NATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR STRONG RELATIONSHIPS, INFORMATION SHARING, ISSUE DISCUSSIONS AND COLLABORATION AMONG LEADERS WORKING TO IMPROVE ELECTIONS. EVN'S FRAMEWORK ALLOWS PARTICIPANTS TO: 1. PROTECT OUR DEMOCRACY EVERY DAY OF EVERY YEAR, NOT JUST DURING THE RUN-UP TO EACH ELECTION. PARTICIAPNTS SHARE RESEARCH AND REPORTS, PROJECT UPDATES, POLICY ALERTS, REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION, AND CALLS FOR ACTION, USING A PARTICIPANT EMAIL LIST THAT IS AT ONCE A COMMUNITY, LIBRARY, LABORATORY, AND THINK TANK. THE RESULTING DISCUSSIONS DISTILLS A VAST FIELD OF NEW DEVELOPMENTS, AIDS COLLABORATION, AND CONNECTS STATE-BASED ADVOCATES WITH TOP ACADEMIC, POLICY, AND LEGAL MINDS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY.
