“2023 impact report title: striving to continuously exceed expectations with compassionate services while pursuing even further enhancements article by rick d. Senft, ceo and president, titled, "ensuring premier, compassionate services and honoring those who make it possible" i am again honored to be able to bring you this annual message as ceo and president of passavant memorial homes family of services (pmhfos) and share some of the innovative ways that our organizations have been able to work collaboratively to provide a holistic array of services to individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs. Through the efforts of our dedicated staff and business partners, and with the guidance and support of our devoted boards of directors, passavant memorial homes (pmh), passavant development corporation (pdc), life enrichment trust (let), accessible dental services (ads), and passavant memorial homes foundation (pmhf) have advanced our collective mission of providing the highest quality of services to all of the individuals, families, and agencies that we are privileged to serve and have continued to facilitate opportunities for each individual to live successfully within his or her community. Compassion is at the foundation of everything that we do at pmhfos, and across 2023 we were able demonstrate our commitment to our employees that directly provide the hands-on compassionate care to the individuals we serve on a daily basis, through the implementation of several initiatives. These initiatives included years of service recognitions, direct support professional (dsp) of the month awards, and a variety of initiatives to acknowledge the nationally-recognized dsp recognition week. In addition to recognizing our direct care staff, pmhfos also honored our management staff in a special way during 2023. All management employees across pmhfos were invited to attend a luncheon at the ppg paints arena to further support cross-functional collaboration amongst departments and recognize the vital work and dedication of our management team in empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs. It is because of our compassionate direct care employees and dedicated management team that pmh continues to be able to offer a solution to state and county entities in instances where there is an urgent need to support additional individuals. There was one such instance during this past year where individuals needed to transition from another provider agency and required residential services. Pmh welcomed the opportunity to assist and proactively developed a comprehensive plan to address all of the individuals' unique needs. Through this process, many of the impacted individuals selected pmh as the preferred provider of choice and were able to successfully transition into pmh's residential program. Since its founding in 1895, and in particular over the most recent 35 years, pmh has established a track record of success in providing residential services to additional individuals with intellectual disabilities, and this latest transition is a further example. Pmh understands that there are a variety of challenges facing human services provider agencies operating in today's day and age, and pmh is committed to partnering with other provider agencies that are in need of support and assistance. Accordingly, pmh has created a provider agency support and integration webpage on pmhfos.org that outlines an array of options for consideration, ranging from independence to integration, for provider agencies that are seeking relief and assistance. As we enter 2024, pmhfos is well positioned for the opportunities and challenges that we will be presented with, and we will work tirelessly to continue to provide optimal supports to all of the individuals that we are privileged to serve. Thank you for your interest in our organization, and we look forward to working with you in the coming year as we”
“Article by mary ann bolland, pmh board chair, titled, "pursuing even further enhancements at pmhfos, internally and beyond" on behalf of the passavant memorial homes (pmh) board of directors, i am proud to report on yet another year of providing compassionate services and supports to over 10,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs, such that each individual is empowered to pursue their unique goals and aspirations. Under the steadfast leadership of rick d. Senft, ceo and president, pmh and its subsidiary and affiliate organizations have never been satisfied with maintaining the status quo. Rather, there is an underlying commitment to continuous improvement and attacking both challenges and opportunities with a proactive approach. Passavant memorial homes family of services' (pmhfos) actions across this past year speak to this enduring focus on positioning the organization to be able to not only meet the needs of the individuals that we are privileged serve in the present, but also in years to come. To this regard, pmhfos completed significant renovations to the corporate office location in harmarville, pennsylvania, to create an innovative space which will facilitate collaboration and teamwork across our organizations. As part of this renovation, a human resources center of excellence has been established to promote high-class employee training, development, and support. This space includes a state-of-the-art training facility to ensure that staff have the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in their career at pmhfos during their onboarding with the organization and throughout their employment. Further investments were also made into the development of pmh's direct care employees. Specifically, pmh partnered with a direct support professional credentialing vendor to provide the opportunity for our direct care employees for career growth through the obtainment of a nationally-recognized qualification. Additionally, pmhfos enhanced its technological infrastructure through the implementation of an upgraded phone system that improves security capabilities and streamlines employee-to-employee communication. In addition to these internal enhancements, all of which are geared towards creating a workforce and infrastructure for future success, what i am especially proud of is that pmhfos does not stop there. Our organization's commitment to developing an environment where individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs can further live successfully in their community extends beyond the family of services that we operate. Pmhfos is dedicated to creating awareness of, and providing education to, those outside of our organization. The passavant memorial homes foundation (pmhf) community service scholarship in memory of jamie ellenberger is one example of this. Pmhf received applicants from 46 local high schools relating to this scholarship, with the awardee of $10,000 being the applicant who best demonstrates his/her efforts to serve their community, with an emphasis on supporting individuals with disabilities. Another example of this is through accessible dental services' (ads) clinical affiliation with the university of pittsburgh school of dental medicine. This partnership facilitates opportunities for dental students to gain experience providing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs, under the supervision of the ads dental director. The ultimate objective of this partnership is to enhance the overall comfort of future community dentists in providing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs. I would again like to thank all those who have assisted us in advancing our mission this past year as well as those who supported our foundation's events and initiatives. Further, i would like to recognize my colleagues that devote their time and energy to serve on”
“Pmh, pmhf, let, let-nj, ads, and the housing initiative corporations are not-for-profit corporations as described under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code (irc) and are recognized as tax exempt under 501(a) of the code. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been provided. Pdc is a for-profit corporation and is subject to federal and state income taxes. Pdc provides for income taxes in accordance with the asset and liability method. Under this method, deferred taxes are determined based on the difference between the financial statement and the tax basis of assets and liabilities using enacted tax rates in effect in the years in which the differences are expected to reverse. Deferred tax assets are provided for operating losses that are available to offset future taxable income and tax credits that are available to offset future federal income taxes. A valuation allowance is established for any deferred tax asset for which realization is not considered likely. Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require the organization to evaluate tax positions taken by the organization and recognize a tax liability or asset if the organization has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue services (irs). The organization has concluded that as of june 30, 2024 and 2023, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or asset or disclosure in the consolidated financial statements. Generally, tax returns for years ended june 30, 2021, and thereafter remain subject to examination by federal and state tax authorities.”

| IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | PMH, PMHF, LET, LET-NJ, ADS, AND THE HOUSING INITIATIVE CORPORATIONS ARE NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATIONS AS DESCRIBED UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE (IRC) AND ARE RECOGNIZED AS TAX EXEMPT UNDER 501(A) OF THE CODE. GENERALLY, TAX RETURNS FOR YEARS ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, AND THEREAFTER REMAIN SUBJECT TO EXAMINATION BY FEDERAL AND STATE TAX AUTHORITIES. |
