“Latin american and caribbean communities is a black latinx women-led organization with the mission to educate and organize for human rights, democracy and racial justice throughout the americas. We are a regional network of black women, femme and girl human rights advocates, community and regional organizers, educators, migrants, scholars, historians, storytellers, health workers, and a multitude of identities , with lived experiences and shared vision of transforming the local and regional social and political infrastructures impacting the lives black communities across the black diaspora of the americas.”

“Latin american and caribbean communities strongly believes in the fundamental right any individual has to access and share information in the language they feel most comfortable with in any given context. We are especially committed to creating access for the black and black indigenous communities of the region, so they can fully participate in and lead the spaces they are involved in. Our language justice league is a group of interpreters and translators who are passionate about helping organizations that strive for racial justice and liberation to create multilingual spaces where every voice feels represented and heard. What we offer: simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for meetings, events, and gatherings translation of documents language justice support for black events and organizations training for organizations new to language justice interpreting lead communication and management of interpreters”

“An accompanied transformational process for self-identified black women and girls impacted by incarceration, that are powerful social innovators, out of-the-box radical thinkers that seek to shift, reach and deepen their organizing/activism in regards to power and its impact on black women, their families in not only in their communities and countries of origin, but in the region itself. We currently have two fellows, both black state violence survivors. Fellows get two years monthly paid stipends. They get coaching and mentorship from a dedicated staff member. They get to connect to international fellows that are working on parallel projects and have experienced similar life experiences as they have. They must be nominated by someone that knows the organization and knows their issue/work, and then go through an application process and an interview to be considered for a fellowship. There are a maximum of three fellows per year.”
