“Several officers and chairman are spouses.”

“Members of the organization are parents, guardians or other individuals providing mandatory financial sponsorship of students actively enrolled in the program, who are willing to subscribe to the purpose and bylaws are eligible for this membership. These active members shall have the rights and privileges of membership including the right to vote or serve on the board of directors. Each active member shall have one vote. Families are limited to two active members. Active members are entitled to receive a newsletter, calendars and program information. Active members are identified for each student. They are also entitled to vote for the board of directors. There are approximately 200 active members for the current year.”

“The form 990 is provided to the officers of the corporation prior to the filing of the return. The officers are asked to forward any questions or concerns to the treasurer.”

“The treasurer provides a written statement to all officers that must be signed. The voting committee members are sent a copy of the conflict of interest policy at the beginning of the year and are requested to return or provide at the next attended meeting. Not all statements are received from committee members. Many of the committee members have very small budgets.”

“Governing documents such as bylaws, conflict of interest policy and form 1023 are available upon requests submitted to the treasurer. No fee is charged for requests, at this time.”
