In 2024, the nursing consortium of florida organized and presented two education conferences. Caring connections; discovering magic at the intersection of technology and nursing was a two half-day conference that took place on the 28th and 29th of june at disney's coronado springs resort near orlando. This conference, attended by approximately 300 nurses focused on the importance of nurse participation in the design, development, and implementation phases of technology innovations in healthcare. Mission driven; building & maintaining a culture of nursing excellence took place on the 14th of november at the dodge city center in pembroke pines. This fall conference, which was attended by nearly 700 nurses, presented national and regional innovations that are showing promise in building healthy and high performing work environments in both practice and academic settings. Also in 2024, the nursing consortium of florida offered day in the life of a nurse; a one-day field trip experience for more than 1,200 middle and high school students in miami dade, broward, and palm beach counties on the 6th of november. In addition to the one-day in-person experience. A month-long virtual day in the life of a nurse program featuring curated and original video content, including some of which was interactive and designed for use by teachers and students in a classroom setting was offered and was experienced by an additional 5,000 middle and high school students. Throughout the year, the nursing consortium of florida administers a web based system for scheduling student nurse clinical experiences in southern florida. More than 125 hospitals and nursing schools used the centralized clinical placement system (ccps) in 2024. The nursing consortium of florida also launched a strategic planning process at the end of 2024 to extend programming and membership growth throughout the state and to better leverage its 501c3 status to obtain public sector and private philanthropy support for enhanced transitions to practice programming at member organizations.
