Through the following programs dfw educated over 9,000 women. 2019 projects included: venture strategies for health and development: safe space clubs will transform the lives of vulnerable, isolated adolescent girls in rural niger, dramatically improving education outcomes and delaying marriage and childbearing. Maji safi group: this project aims to reduce the stigma associated with menstrual hygiene management (mhm), decrease school absence rates related to menstruation, increase access to sustainable menstrual cups, and develop the self-confidence of young women in rural tanzania. Ten charities/her future coalition: by expanding and supporting three red light area resource centers in calcutta, this project will provide job training, employment, counseling, and informal education for women who have experienced human trafficking and gender-based violence. It will also provide education, counseling, safe spaces, and therapeutic arts for these womens children. Street child us: the breaking the bonds project in nepal helps adolescent girls in remote areas achieve functional literacy and numeracy, make sustainable transitions into meaningful employment, and develop confidence and awareness of their rights in order to reduce prejudice and sexual violence. Young heroes foundation: this project in swaziland alleviates poverty by helping female caregivers (often grandmothers)of orphans and vulnerable children to become financially literate, and by creating the opportunity for them to become micro entrepreneurs. Jacaranda health: super-nurses for maternal health is kenyas first nurse mentor training center. The center trains top nurses from kenyas public hospitals to mentor hundreds of peer nurses and sustainably improve maternal outcomes for mothers and babies.
