Alumni Association of State University College at Buffalo

“All graduates of the state university of new york college at buffalo ("the college") are general members. Honorary members are those members granted membership at the discretion of the board of directors. They may include former college students, faculty, staff and emeriti, family members of the alumni, and friends of the buffalo state alumni association who subscribe to its goals and have demonstrated an interest in some material way. Life members are all general members who paid life member dues when membership dues were in effect. Voting members are the general members, at any point in time, who are serving on the board of directors of the alumni association.”

“The officers are elected by the voting members at the annual meeting of the alumni association. They serve on year terms or until their successors are duly elected. The directors are elected for two-year terms by the voting members of the alumni association. At least 20 days prior to the annual meeting, the nominating committee serving for the then current year shall present to the board of directors, for its approval, a slate of directors including officers, with one candidate for each position. Additional candidates may be nominated by any member of the alumni association at least ten days before the annual meeting with written consent of the nominee. The approved slate, plus any additional candidates who have been nominated as aforesaid, shall be presented to the voting members at the annual meeting.”

“The return is provided to the board of directors and the director of accounting at the college will review and discuss the return with the accountants.”

“Key personnel monitor the policy on a continual basis throughout the year to ensure compliance and integrity of the current policy in place.”

“The organizations governing documents and tax returns will be made available for view by the public in the alumni office of the college.”
