Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Part I, Line 1

Pga provides kindergarten to college students with programs, services, mentoring, & scholarships. In collaboration with community partners, project grad akron will provide a system of programs, supports, and scholarships for underrepresented students to achieve success from kindergarten through career.

Part III, Line 1

In collaboration with community partners, project grad akron (pga) will provide students with pathways and opportunities to achieve success from kindergarten through career.

Part III, Line 4A

College access (ca) - the goal of the college access program is to increase the number of students graduating from buchtel & east community learning centers, attending college and successfully completing college. (the word college is used to include any post-secondary accredited program). College access services begin in middle school and continue through college, although the majority of direct services are provided at the high school level. We provide programming at the middle school level focused on college and career readiness through kids2college and junior achievement financial literacy and career programs. Specific programming at the high school in our resource room includes: college and career central, a semester long intensive course focused on college applications, scholarship applications, financial aid for college, and financial literacy; small group work addressing social competencies, case management services to guide and assist students to meet the contract requirements and receive the $4,000 project grad scholarship or other scholarships, american college testing (act) prep workshops, summer and school year institutes, math tutoring, mentoring services, service learning and community service opportunities, leadership skills development opportunities, college and career exploration, and college success services for our scholars in college.

Part III, Line 4B

Campus family support (cfs) cfs is the umbrella for a diverse array of services and activities to support students and families and address barriers to student achievement and social competence. Specific activities include bridge to kindergarten (transition to kindergarten), kent state university home school community partnerships, breakfast and educational fun with santa, the expo for success, a career fair, and we utilize the small group process with elementary children to address specific conditions that affect children realizing social competence. We have established a significant number of partnerships with area agencies, organizations, and local universities which support our programming and services.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the organization and recognize a tax liability if the organization has taken certain tax positions that more-likely-than-not would be sustained upon examination by applicable taxing authorities. The organization would recognize interest and penalties accrued, if any, related to unrecognized tax uncertainties in income tax expense. Management has analyzed tax positions taken and has concluded that there are no material uncertain tax positions taken, or expected to be taken, that would require recognition of liability or disclosure in the financial statements.
