Mission

It is the mission of the eldercare foundation, inc. To solicit, collect and raise money for the support of nascentia health, inc. (previously home care of central new york, inc.) and its not-for-profit tax exempt affiliates to become the premier home and community-based care system for the regions we serve.the eldercare foundation, inc. Goal of maintaining, restoring and promoting the health and independence of those we serve is achieved by utilizing our agency and community resources, by working collaboratively, and by providing the proper environment for development and retention of a caring, competent staff.

To increase the community's compassion for aging individuals and to raise funds to enable elders to remain at home.

Home aides of central new york is the sole corporate member of eldercare foundation. The member reserves to itself all the rights and powers of corporate membership created by the laws of the state of new york or the certificate of incorporation or the by-laws of the corporation. Specifically, the member reserves the authority to appoint directors to the governing body, to amend the by-laws of the corporation, and to approve the sale, transfer, or disposition of all or substantially all of the corporation's assets.

Home care, vna, cch, vna foundation, home aides, eldercare and chs are not-for-profit corporations and qualify as tax-exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Options, is a single member llc is consolidated for tax purposes with vna, its sole member. The operations of options is part of the exempt purpose of vna and qualifies for tax-exemption under 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Ihcs is a taxable entity. As of december 31, 2013 and 2012, the company did not have any unrecognized tax benefits or any related accrued interest or penalties. The tax years open to examination by federal and new york state taxing authorities are 2010 through 2013.
