IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0THE ECONOMIST IMPACT - THE UNITED STATES OUT OF THE SHADOWS INDEX. THIS INDEX EVALUATES STATE-LEVEL EFFORTS TO PREVENT, RESPOND TO, AND ULTIMATELY ERADICATE CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION. THIS YEAR'S REPORT REVIEWS 28 STATES - COVERING 70 PERCENT OF THE U.S. POPULATION - AND BUILDS ON THE FINDINGS OF OUR 2022 PILOT STUDY, WHICH ASSESSED 12 STATES. TO CREATE THE INDEX, 170 METRICS WERE AGGREGATED INTO 21 INDICATORS AND FOUR DOMAINS; INVESTMENTS IN PREVENTION CAPACITY BUILDING; STATE LEGAL PROTECTIONS AND CRIMINAL PROVISIONS, THE ADEQUACY OF SUPPORT SERVICES; AND THE DELIVERY OF SURVIVOR-CENTERED JUSTICE PROCESSES, AGAINST WHICH EACH STATE WAS EVALUATED. IT IS OUR HOPE THAT THE U.S. OUT OF THE SHADOWS INDEX WILL SERVE AS A ROADMAP FOR CHANGE - INFORMING POLICY REFORM, GALVANIZING ACTION, AND DRIVING ACCOUNTABILITY AT EVERY LEVEL.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0THE BRIDGE FOR YOUTH - USING A MOBILE OUTREACH CENTER, THIS ORGANIZATION MEETS HOMELESS AND AT-RISK YOUTH IN THE TWIN CITIES AND CONNECTS THEM WITH A CONTINUUM OF SERVICES. THIS DISRUPTS THE CYCLE OF SEXUAL EXPLOITATION AND EMPOWERS THEM TO INCREASE THEIR SAFETY, HOUSING, STABILITY AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY. THE MOBILE OUTREACH MEETS THE YOUTH'S IMMEDIATE BASIS NEEDS - HEALTHY FOOD, CLOTHING, AND RESOURCES FOR HARM REDUCTION. IT ALSO OFFERS ASSESSMENTS AND REFERRALS, CASE MANAGEMENT AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, CONNECTION THROUGH 1:1 IN PERSON AND VIRTUAL MEETINGS. THIS PROGRAM SUPPORTS THE MORE THAN 6,000 YOUTH EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS, WITH MANY ALSO EXPERIENCING SEXUAL EXPLOITATION, IN MINNESOTA EACH NIGHT.
