“Part iii, line 1 the primary exempt purpose of the syracuse university alumni association, inc. Is to promote, foster and encourage alumni and friends of syracuse university to maintain personal involvement in, and financial support of the activities of syracuse university as an institution committed to promoting learning through teaching, research, scholarship creative accomplishment and service. The association includes the chartered alumni clubs in many cities within the united states. Members part vi, section a, question 6 syracuse university is the sole member of syracuse university alumni association, inc. Power to elect or appoint one or more members of the governing body part vi, section a, question 7a the secretary, treasurer, assistant secretary, and assistant treasurer are appointed by the chancellor of syracuse university for terms to be designated by the chancellor. Governance decisions reserved by members part vi, section a, question 7b within three business days of any action by the board of directors or executive committee which relates to a financial commitment or transaction of the association, or to a significant interest of syracuse university, any member of the executive committee may refer the action to the chancellor of syracuse university. As an officer of the sole member of the association, the chancellor shall have the right within five additional business days to veto the action referred to him if he determines the action to be contrary to the best interests of the association or university. Procedures governing branches part vi, section b, question 10 syracuse university alumni association provides governance to the chartered chapters. Chapters make application to the alumni association for recognition. Chapters are required to be organized and operated under approved charters and bylaws.”

“Part vi, section b, question 11b the form 990 is prepared from information obtained from each of the chartered alumni clubs. The return is reviewed by management before filing with the internal revenue service. Syracuse university also provides oversight during the review process by dr. Louis g. Marcoccia, treasurer of the alumni association and also executive vice president and chief financial officer of syracuse university. The filing copy of the form 990 will be provided to all members of the governing body prior to filing the return with the internal revenue service.”

“Part vi, section b, questions 12-15 syracuse university alumni association does not have employees and its activities are conducted primarily by volunteer alumni of syracuse university. The university donates office space and provides administrative support to the alumni association. The alumni association complies with the university's policies regarding potential conflicts of interest, whistleblower policy, and document retention policy.”

Elizabeth o'rourke is a full time employee of syracuse university who devotes approximately 60 hours per week to the university of which approximately two hours per week are devoted to the alumni association. Dr. Louis g. Marcoccia is a full time employee of syracuse university who devotes approximately 60 hours per week to the university of which approximately two hours per week are devoted to the alumni association.”
