Endowments are intended to be used for the future benefit of the supported organization. i.e. scholarships, project funds. Permanent endowment funds are established by the donor with the corpus permanently restricted as to use. Earnings are available for use as directed by the donor endowment establishment documentation. Temporarily restricted funds are established by the donor for purposes ranging from scholarships, equipment, departmental operations, education, etc. Appropriate distribution of those funds is monitored by the Foundation Director in accordance with the donor written directives.

While there is a separate board membership, there is an active communication channel between the Foundation and Arnot Health, Inc. management. Through this communication, the future plans and financial needs are communicated. The board reviews the needs of the supported organization, and the appropriate distribution of funds is monitored and approved for release of funds by the Foundation Director in accordance with donor written directives to provide the greater benefit to the supported organization.
