“Description of membership is provided upon application to, acceptance by, and execution of membership agreement with a county farm bureau. Regular membership is open to individuals and entities actively engaged in farming or owning farming business property. Regular members have voting and representation privileges on the governing body. Other individuals or entities may be admitted as associate members. Persons who are not directly connected with farming or agriculture may be admitted as supporting members. Agriculture-related associations and cooperatives may be admitted as agricultural alliance members students of agriculture may be admitted as student members. Agriculturally related businesses of statewide and-or regional nature may be admitted as agribusiness members.”

“Members have the power to elect the governing body. For electing directors, new york state is divided into eleven districts. One director is elected from each district by a majority vote of the voting delegates from the district.”
