“In 2024, our programs reached a total of 658 learners across its four centers in lofa and bong counties, maintaining average school attendance rate of over 90%. Academic proficiency improved at the newly established kolahun community academy. Students meeting the national reading standard increased from 8% to 69%. Their literacy rates climbed from 15% to 78.6% and numeracy skills improved from 35% to 77.3%. The academic gains are a direct result of adoption of proven evidence-based educational materials, including teaching at the right level(tarl), read liberia, and the luminos curriculum. Ra equipped 55 teachers with innovative student-based pedagogical skills through a robust professional developement program, including 2 workshops on inclusive teaching practices and bi-weekly continuous professional development (cpd) throughout the year. Ra implemented a multi-faceted retention strategy to combat high turnover of teachers in rural areas, resulting in a 15% improvement in retention. Ra continued to develop deep community partnerships with communities providing building supplies and labor for school constructions. Some schools implemented vital school-lunch programs. Ra intensified fundraising efforts, submitting 10 grant applications in 2024. Internally, ra focused on strengthening its operational framework, participating in the acumen lightful bridge program to build resilience in digital growth and developed key policies, including a child protection policy and beneficiary policy, to align with international standards.”
