Pleasantville fire rescue association is a volunteer rescue department consisting of a fire operations division and an emergency medical services division. It provides fire and ambulance services to approximately 130 square miles in marion and warren counties with a total population of nearly 10,000.

Many firefighters are volunteers and work about 6 hours a week.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

During the 2019-2020 fiscal year, pleasantville fire & rescue responded to 338 calls for service with 278 medical calls answered and 60 fire calls covered. Pleasantville fire & rescue currently maintains its aed program with the school district and pleasantville police. Fire prevention was completed with pleasantville schools and local day cares reaching over 350 students. The program allows students to come to the fire station and be part of a fire safety presentation, look through trucks, and have a snack with the firefighters. Pleasantville fire & rescue continues to be an integral part of community events, and countywide projects. Including: gladys black days, home football games medical stand-by, knoxville nationals ems coverage, july 4th activities, chiefs annual motorcycle race, and numerous other community functions and school parades. Fire administration has also worked with city officials and planners with hydrant upgrades, plans reviews during new construction and a knox box entry program for new commerical structures and multi unit residential living units.

PLEASANTVILLE FIRE & RESCUE CURRENTLY MAINTAINS ITS AED PROGRAM WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND PLEASANTVILLE POLICE. FIRE PREVENTION WAS COMPLETED WITH PLEASANTVILLE SCHOOLS AND LOCAL DAY CARES REACHING OVER 350 STUDENTS. THE PROGRAM ALLOWS STUDENTS TO COME TO THE FIRE STATION AND BE PART OF A FIRE SAFETY PRESENTATION, LOOK THROUGH TRUCKS, AND HAVE A SNACK WITH THE FIREFIGHTERS. PLEASANTVILLE FIRE & RESCUE CONTINUES TO BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF COMMUNITY EVENTS, AND COUNTYWIDE PROJECTS. INCLUDING: GLADYS BLACK DAYS, HOME FOOTBALL GAMES MEDICAL STAND-BY, KNOXVILLE NATIONALS EMS COVERAGE, JULY 4TH ACTIVITIES, CHIEFS ANNUAL MOTORCYCLE RACE, AND NUMEROUS OTHER COMMUNITY FUNCTIONS AND SCHOOL PARADES. FIRE ADMINISTRATION HAS ALSO WORKED WITH CITY OFFICIALS AND PLANNERS WITH HYDRANT UPGRADES, PLANS REVIEWS DURING NEW CONSTRUCTION AND A KNOX BOX ENTRY PROGRAM FOR NEW COMMERICAL STRUCTURES AND MULTI UNIT RESIDENTIAL LIVING UNITS.
