That is a tragedy that dcspca is determined to prevent by offering no-interest payment plans to owners who find themselves in difficult circumstances. A pet with a medical emergency must be seen by our clinic vet first, and then if we can treat it or make a referral, we will make a custom plan for the owner to repay the expenses, so that they can keep their pet.”

“Safety-net boarding:if an emergency occurs such as a house fire or hospitalization, dcspca will care for a family pet for up to 6 weeks free-of-charge, while the family regroups and rebuilds their lives. Families will know that their animals are safe and ready to return home when the family is ready to have them once again. We also partner with other non-profits who work with individuals or families in crisis who need a temporary, safe haven for their pets.”
