Mission

Promote trade and tourism in Clinton, Essex and Franklin Counties located in Northern New York. Provide economic development, industrial support and health services to local businesses.

The organization's primary purpose is to promote economic development for the region. Regional public relations and promotional programs are developed and implemented through publications, radio and television, trade shows, digital marketing and other methods to encourage economic development and tourism in the north country. The chamber provides its members with access to business support services such as referrals, networking opportuinities, insurance and counselors. The chamber also advocates for quebec-new york cross-border commerce relations and investment in the north country.

The organization follows fasb asc 740-10, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes, which provides guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in the organization's financial statements. The guidance prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, and also provides guidance on de- recognition, classification, interest and penalties, accounting in interim periods, disclosure and transition. As of december 31, 2016, the organizations have no uncertain tax positions that require either recognition or disclosure in the organization's financial statements. Generally, the tax years ending before december 31, 2013 are no longer subject to examination by federal and state authorities.
